Eliza Reid is one of two founding directors of the Iceland Writers Retreat, an annual gathering for published and aspiring authors comprised of small-group writing workshops and cultural tours in Iceland. She is also editor of Icelandair's in-flight magazine, Icelandair Stopover, and has been published in numerous magazines and newspapers in the UK, U.S., Iceland, and her native Canada. Eliza is a former staff writer at Iceland Review magazine.
Eliza has an interest in food and travel writing and has published about adventures as varied as experiencing voodoo culture in Benin and dining with strangers in Uzbekistan. In 2014, Eliza was named a top travel guide contributor by TripAdvisor's FlipKey blog. Eliza holds an honours BA in international relations from Trinity College at the University of Toronto and an MSt in modern history from St. Antony’s College, Oxford University.Eliza's home for the past 12 years has been in Reykjavik, Iceland, where she lives with her Icelandic husband and their four energetic young children.
