At midnight Icelandic time on December 31 (which is only 7 pm EST - meaning you can still keep your plans!), the entire population of Reykjavik (nearly 200,000 people!) will create a beautiful fireworks show to celebrate the New Year. There are no fireworks restrictions in Reykjavik, meaning anyone and everyone can participate!
This spectacular display is made even sweeter by the fact that the sale of Icelandic fireworks benefits a good cause. The colorful sparklers are primarily sold by the Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue (ICE-SAR) in order to raise funds for the courageous group of volunteers.
Join us at www.IcelandNaturally.com on December 31 to watch the fireworks show. The live broadcast will begin promptly at 7 p.m. EST / 4 p.m. PST / 12 a.m. Icelandic time, so set a reminder! It’s probably the closest you can get to actually being in Iceland for New Year’s Eve - don’t miss out!
