This Just In

It was a great month for women in Iceland: for the fifth year in a row, Iceland was rated the country with the world’s smallest gender gap. Iceland was also named “home of the world’s craziest population statistics” by Slate, and the NYT reported on two Icelandic newlyweds who broke tradition by departing their wedding in an electric car. The Huffington Post showed us how to visit Iceland with a toddler, and the Washington Post explained why Iceland has become a popular destination for Hollywood filmmakers.

All Things Icelandic

Icelandic food and drink took center stage this month, as Blue Lagoon chef Viktor Örn was named Iceland’s ‘Chef of the Year’ and Icelandic Glacial Water was named the official water partner of the 2013 MTV EMA. In other pop culture news, Of Monsters & Men debuted their new song for “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” and Icelandic fashion has gone mainstream with the new online store LastaShop. Finally, satisfy that itch to learn Icelandic with the new “Kids Sound Lab” app and help out Reykjavik by taking this survey – one lucky winner will win a trip to Iceland!
