    Register for the 2019 Iceland Writers Retreat in April!

    The acclaimed literary event is offering one person the chance to win a spot!

    Each year, writers of all levels gather in Reykjavik to attend intimate workshops lead by acclaimed authors. In addition to these sessions, the Iceland Writers Retreat features networking events, lunches and readings, and an all-day guided tour along the Icelandic countryside lead by an Icelandic writer. There is no application process and registration is open to anyone who has an interest in writing.

    The Iceland Writer's Retreat and Iceland Travel are offering one person the chance to win a spot for the acclaimed literary event! The winner will receive the "Complete Package," including a free hotel stay, tours, some meals and all workshops for the duration of the event (April 3-7, 2019).     Who's Going?

    Writers from all over are drawn to the annual Iceland Writers Retreat for many reasons, especially the impressive list of faculty. This year, the following writers will be leading workshops:

    • Priya Basil is the author of two novels, a novella, and numerous essays. She has been nominated for the Commonwealth Writers’ Prise, the Dylan Thomas Prize, and the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award. Priya is the co-founder of Authors for Peace.

    • Ivan Coyote has written a multitude of books, short films, live shows, and three albums. He has been given an Honorary Doctorate of Laws at Simon Fraser University for their writing and activism.

    • Louis de Bernières is known for his book Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, which one the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize, Best Book in 1995. He recently published a collection of stories and two collections of poetry.

    • Tessa Hadley has written six novels and three collections of short stories, many of which have been published in the New Yorker. In 2016, she was awarded the Windham Campbell prize for Fiction.

    • Sarah Moss has published six novels, three of which have been shortlisted for the Wellcome Book Prize. She has also published a memoir about her year living in Iceland, which was shortlisted for the RSL Ondaatje prize.

    • Chigozie Obioma is the author of The Fisherman. Though it was only his debut novel, the book one the inaugural FT/Oppenheimer Award for Fiction, the NAACP Image Awards for Debut Literary Work, and many others. He was named one of Foreign Policy’s 100 Leading Global Thinkers of 2015.

    • Elizabeth Renzetti recently published a collection of essays about contemporary feminism, which became a national bestseller. She writes a weekly column that runs in Canada’s national newspaper, the Globe and Mail.

    • Emma Straub is a New York Times bestselling author of three novels and a short story collection. Her writing has been published in New York Magazine, Tin House, The New York Times, Vogue, and many more.
