Reykjavik Fashion Festival: March 27-30, 2014

This year marks the fifth annual Reykjavik Fashion Festival (RFF), an event that celebrates Iceland’s creative energy by combining fashion, design, and music at venues around Reykjavik. The festival serves as an international platform for eight of Iceland’s best designers to showcase their new collections. This year, RFF is collaborating with DesignMarch to offer events like DesignTalks led by designer Calvin Klein. Click here to learn more about this unique event.

Experience Iceland in North America

Anyone in North America is eligible to win a trip to Iceland by entering Inspired By Iceland’s “Secret Tour of Iceland” contest! In New York City, art lovers are encouraged to check out the Essence of Abstraction exhibition at Agora Gallery featuring Icelandic artist Elva Hreidarsdottir from March 4-25. Also in New York City, Icelandic musician Sin Fang will be performing at a free concert at The Standard (NYC) on March 11. Sin Fang, along with Icelandic artists Hermigervill and Retro Stefson, will then travel to Portland, Maine for a free Reykjavik Calling concert on March 14, before headlining Reykjavik Calling in Boston on March 15 for Taste of Iceland. And don’t forget about our other spring Taste of Iceland event in Edmonton this March!

Check out this The Wall Street Journal article to find out why it’s actually difficult for residents of a country called “Ice-land” to train for winter sports. Iceland put on a very successful Food & Fun Festival last week! The annual event mixes outstanding culinary skills, fresh natural ingredients and world-famous Reykjavik nightlife, making the perfect recipe for fun! Icelanders were also happy to find that their Keflavik International Airport was named one of Europe’s best airports at the Airport Council International ASQ Awards.
